Numerical Analysis on Spanwise Correlation of Vortex-Induced Force of Split Double-Box Beam

The vortex-induced force of bridges is not synchronized along the span direction. spatial correlation becomes obvious when bridge structure gradually increases, and mass decreases. Therefore, it important to study spanwise forces long-span ensure accuracy prediction vibration response bridges. established improved theory experimental research methods for analysis large-span by discussing during split double-box beam. Taking Xihoumen Bridge as object, two-dimensional (2D) three-dimensional (3D) numerical models scaled-down sections were designed based on ANSYS Fluent platform RANS SST turbulence model. Based Newmark-β algorithm, a User Defined Function (UDF) was written vortex calculation, bypass beam in static conditions which calculated, correlations aerodynamic coefficients, surface pressure wake wind velocity main girder section analyzed states bridge. results show that self-excited its correlation. Compared with those state, lift coefficient torque increased 55% 87%, respectively, resistance more than 10 times. coefficients 153%. 37% along-wind direction across-wind vertical-wind simulation verified comparing distribution field-measured data.
